This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use our mobile application (the “App”).
1. Data Storage and Syncing (CloudKit & SwiftData)
The App uses Apple’s CloudKit and SwiftData to store and synchronize your data across your devices.
- Local Storage: Your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
- Cloud Sync: If you are signed into iCloud, your data is synced to Apple’s servers via CloudKit.
- Access: We (the developers) do not have access to your private databases or the files stored in your iCloud account. Your data is encrypted and managed by Apple.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and use certain data for advertising purposes, including:
- Device identifiers (IDFA).
- Approximate location data.
- Interaction data with ads.
This data is used to provide personalized ads and to measure ad performance. You can manage your ad preferences through your device’s system privacy settings.
3. Analytics (Firebase)
To improve the App’s performance and user experience, we use Firebase Analytics. This tool collects information such as device model, session duration, and in-app events (e.g., feature usage).
- User Control: You have the right to opt-out of analytics collection at any time. To do so, tap the gear icon button in the top-left toolbar on the main screen and toggle the “Allow Usage Analytics” switch to the off position.
- Data Privacy: The data collected is aggregated and anonymous; it does not identify you personally.
4. Live Match Sync (Firebase Firestore)
When a match is active, the App automatically sends match data — team names, scores, and the match log — to Google Firebase Firestore to enable the remote scoreboard feature.
- Duration: Data is held on Google’s servers for the duration of the active session.
- Deletion: The data is automatically deleted from Firestore when the session ends. In the event of an unexpected termination (e.g. a crash), data is deleted within 48 hours.
- Device Registration: A device that displays a remote scoreboard registers itself under your account with its device name (e.g. “Anna’s iPad”) so you can identify and control it from the broadcasting device. Each registration expires 24 hours after the device last connects and is deleted within 48 hours.
- Anonymous Authentication: To secure this feature, each device is signed in to Firebase anonymously. This creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID.
- Access: The match data is accessible to your other devices via iCloud-shared match IDs.
- For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (via advertisements). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third parties.
6. Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), please note that the only data we hold directly is the short-lived match sync and device registration data described in Section 4, and it expires automatically — match data when the session ends (or within 48 hours after an unexpected termination), device registrations within 48 hours of last use. No manual deletion request is needed. Your match data is otherwise stored in your own iCloud account and managed entirely by Apple, and advertising and analytics data is processed by Google. To exercise your data rights, please contact Apple or Google directly.
